The Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) is a component of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). FLETC serves as an interagency law enforcement training organization for 95 Federal agencies. The FLETC also provides services to state, local, tribal, and international law enforcement agencies. The FLETC is headquartered in Glynco, Georgia, near the port city of Brunswick.
In addition to Glynco, the FLETC operates two other residential training sites in Artesia, New Mexico, and Charleston, South Carolina. The FLETC also operates a non-residential in-service requalification and advanced training facility in Cheltenham, Maryland, for use by agencies with large concentrations of personnel in the Washington, DC area.
The FLETC Orlando team provides the ability to evaluate new and existing training technologies for their ability to meet law enforcement training needs.
Utilizing knowledge of FLETC training methodology and course content, the team seeks out both new and existing technologies for potential integration into the FLETC training regimen. Forging partnerships with the military, commercial, and academic sectors throughout the United States, the team ensures FLETC is aware of the current state of technology and technology integration within those markets.
