Team Orlando provides a full range of Systems Engineering services, beginning very early in the creation of the project or program and continuing throughout the subsequent program and system life cycle. The systems engineers develop and coordinate the engineering specifications and procurement documents for the training system based on analysis of the Training System Functional Descriptions (TSFD) product from the Front End Analysis and other known requirements, enabling contractor and the government program teams to understand what is required in the design and production of the specified trainer and for contractors to develop a responsive technical proposal.
During source selection, systems engineers play a principal role in evaluating the proposals received from offerors. This evaluation allows selection of the contractor offering the best value for the price proposed.
During the development and production/construction of the training system, systems engineers ensure that the selected contractor rigorously follows sound systems engineering principles and processes in the detailed design of the system. Team Orlando systems engineers interface directly with the selected contractor to review designs, evaluate progress, and resolve technical and program problems as they arise. Systems engineers review progress and technical reports from the contractor, participate in design review meetings, and visit contractors’ plants periodically for on-site progress evaluation.
Systems engineers also play a key role in developing and managing the test and evaluation plans and programs to verify that the training and simulation solutions developed and delivered by industry meet the engineering specifications and contract requirements.
