After a training system is installed and accepted as ready for training, the task of repair and maintenance continues throughout the life cycle of the system. Team Orlando provides an extensive global support network capability for training and simulation systems deployed worldwide.
Team Orlando In-Service Engineering Office Staff and Field Service Representatives make periodic inspections and evaluations of equipment in the field to verify that training systems continue to meet the specified training and performance requirements. Follow-up evaluations provide answers about how well a system is performing overall; what percentage of the training requirement it is supplying; and what, if any, modifications are needed. Quality assurance specialists also make regular inspections of equipment in the field to verify that it is operating safely and according to the engineering specifications.
Team Orlando provides program management and direction over worldwide life cycle contractor support and contractor operations and maintenance programs. This includes planning, programming and budget execution as well as awarding and managing competitive services contracts to operate and support live, virtual and constructive training and simulation systems deployed around the world.
Life Cycle Support teams include acquisition logisticians who support the program management teams throughout the acquisition process. Logisticians form an integral part of the team that develops the Integrated Logistic Support requirements and specifications for the request-for-proposal package.
